Start with these6

Resonance of Fate is a 2010 tri-Ace role-playing game about three mercenaries in a dying city. The Enhanced Remaster people are searching for is a paid DLC that upgrades the 2018 PC release — not a new game of its own — and that distinction decides which page you need first.

What the Enhanced Remaster actually is

On Steam, RESONANCE OF FATE / END OF ETERNITY ENHANCED REMASTER is app 4996080, $9.99, released 29 October 2026. It is add-on content for RESONANCE OF FATE / END OF ETERNITY 4K/HD EDITION (app 645730, 17 October 2018, $34.99), itself the 4K/HD re-release of the 2010 original. Buy the base game, add the DLC, and the same install becomes the Enhanced Remaster.

That means two kinds of questions land on this site, and both are answered here:

The two things the DLC is selling

The store description lists exactly four graphics changes and one gameplay change: native 4K output, HDR, 120 fps support, upscaled character and environment textures, and a 2x Game Speed toggle. Nothing else is claimed — no new chapters, no new characters, no rebalanced combat. The 47 Steam achievements all belong to the base game and none were added with the DLC, which is worth knowing before you buy it expecting a fresh completion list.

Game speed is the feature that changes how the game feels rather than how it looks. Resonance of Fate is long, with a lot of walking between hexes; doubling the clock is the difference between finishing chapter 16 and stalling in chapter 9. The graphics switches matter more on a 4K display than on a 1080p one.

What the base game asks of you

Combat is a hybrid of real-time movement and turn-based commitment. You spend action points moving, then commit to a charged shot; machine guns deal scratch damage that cannot kill, handguns and grenades convert that scratch into direct damage that can. Hero Actions, paid for with Bezels, slow time and speed up charging while you run a preset path. The world map is a hex puzzle you solve with energy hexes to open routes and power terminals that buff entire districts.

None of that is new in 2026, and the game still has a reputation for being hard because the tutorial layer is thin and the difficulty spikes are real.

Before you start

  • Check your platform. The Steam release is a Windows build. Buying the DLC on a console storefront is a different product line and this site does not cover it.
  • Install size is not small. The Enhanced Remaster page lists 90 GB; the 2018 release listed 16 GB.
  • Expect the first two hours to feel bad. The game hands you a charge system and a Bezels economy without explaining either. The beginner guide exists for that gap.

Quick answers

Is it a remaster of the 2010 game? It is the 2018 4K/HD edition with another layer of graphics options and a speed toggle. Same game underneath.

Do I need the base game? Yes. The DLC is content for app 645730 and does nothing on its own.

Does it add achievements? No. The 47 achievements tracked here are the base game's list, including the full global completion rates on the achievements page.

Can I turn the speed boost off? Yes, it is a toggle, not a permanent change.

Where to go next

Start with the beginner guide if you have not played before, or the combat system breakdown if you have and want the mechanics in one table. Players who already own the DLC usually want the graphics settings and 2x Game Speed notes first. Everything else is indexed on the guides page.
